This morning we went to Hilary's church and as we walked in the keyboard player was playing "How deep the Father's love for us" - a song I like (with perhaps the exemption of one line). As we sat there waiting for the meeting to begin we sat in His presence, it was wonderful.
Over the last couple of days I have been meditating on Psalm 91 and in particular verse one. This very simply tells us that if we live in His presence then we will live at rest under His protection. The rest of the Psalm is about the blessings that follow from that decision.
One of the things that constantly alludes us is being able to live a life of rest. Yet this life of rest is possible as we live in His presence. This is why the only way is to keep going deeper - the deeper we go in His love the more we can enter into the rest He promises us.
